life lately

 

A few snap shots of life lately. I have been meaning to start making more personal posts, but I usually get sidetracked and just post about work. So get ready folks for some more personality to my blog, along with lots and lots of photos of my sweet german shepherd / corgi Dolly.

I really want to get into making patterns all the time again. In college they were my love and I tried making every assignment focused on them.  I do quite a bit of pattern making in my freelance work but most the time it ends up being stuff I can't show since it's client work. So here it goes, I am going to try and make a couple of patterns a week, and upload them to my society6 shop. It is instant gratification seeing those puppies on all kinds of products!

new painting preview

 I am really trying to get back into painting. It seems like once I graduated from college I forgot how to paint and lost my confidence in it too. Whenever I would start a painting I would become impatient with it, and discard it or, I would scan it in to the computer and try to finish it up in there. So hopefully this is the first of many painting to come this year. I am happy with how this one turned out :)

I realized I haven't worked on a personal project in a very long time - which is pretty sad! While working at one of my favorite coffee shops with my fiance (YES I DID SAY FIANCE CHRIS AND I GOT ENGAGED ABOUT A MONTH AGO!!!) I was doing some major brainstorming and finally had an idea that combined my love of all things nature, and my love for the beautiful state of Minnesota.
